Yingde Gases will Break Ground on Group's First Green Ammonia Project in Inner Mongolia
On 26 July 2022, Yingde Gases Group (hereinafter referred to as Yingde Gases) signed a cooperation agreement with China Hydrogen to jointly invest in and build green hydrogen and green ammonia facilities in the city of Ordos, Inner Mongolia. This is Yingde Gases' first green ammonia project.
Yingde Gases Group CEO Fang Shiwen, Strategy and Market Center Managing Director Shen Wei, Business Development Center / Hydrogen Energy Division Managing Director Zhang Xu, China Hydrogen Chairman Deng Jianqing and Co-Chairman Feng Zhibin attended the signing ceremony.
Green ammonia is an important energy vector derived from green hydrogen. The project includes an annual capacity of 9,300 tons of green hydrogen and 50,000 tons of green ammonia, as well as a 400-megawatt photovoltaic power station and electrochemical energy storage system. The project aims to produce green nitrogen with green hydrogen generated from green power. These raw materials be put through a low-temperature, low-pressure process to create a synthetic 99.9% pure green ammonia.
Yingde Gases strives to empower society through innovative and sustainable gas solutions. During the ongoing progress of “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality”, Yingde Gases as an industrial gas company, has worked extensively with both the governments and private enterprises to empower the industries with green hydrogen solutions, constantly seeking out new ways to contribute to the energy transition.
Yingde Gases Group CEO Fang Shiwen said: "As projected in the agreement, the green hydrogen from renewable energy will be produced and empower the traditional chemical industry by paving the way from “renewable energy to green hydrogen, and to a green chemical industry”. It will help to realize the coupling of green energy and chemical industry, while enabling the chemical industry to phase out carbon usage and turn to a green solution. At the same time, Yingde Gases endeavors to synergize with multiple partners to take lead in the fields of hydrogen energy, emerging technologies, cleantech, and new energy to become the driving force behind the green transformation of China's industries."
